SBC stellt eine `F33f`_`[komprimierte verlustbehaftete Kodierung von Audiosignalen`:/page/entry.mu`zim=wikipedia_de_all_nopic_2026-01.zim|entry_path=Audiodatenkompression]`_`f ähnlich dem `F33f`_`[MP3`:/page/entry.mu`zim=wikipedia_de_all_nopic_2026-01.zim|entry_path=MP3]`_`f-Format dar. Der SBC ist frei von Lizenzgebühren, solange er für Bluetooth verwendet wird. Außerdem erfordert die Kodierung in dieses Format keine hohen Ansprüche an die Rechenleistung.
